Hello!

Do you ever wish books had ratings, like movies do? Sometimes I'd like to know what I'm getting into before I open the book.

That's why I've started a community blog to review books for sex, violence, language, and overall read-appeal, all based on a five-star rating system. That's right; I want to publish YOUR reviews. The more reviews we can compile, the more useful the site will be to book fans (and parents of book fans) everywhere.

Guidelines:

* All reviews can be sent via email to: gwensgoodreads@gmail.com

* I'm looking for you to generally follow the format I've established: a quick plot summary, your impression of the book, and why you gave it the ratings you did.

* Please make the ratings objective, even though your opinion of the book will be (as expected) subjective. For instance, you might give something a 5 on all counts, but still love it, and that's OK. I'm not looking to make value statements, or pass judgements - only to give a general screening of content.

* Please do NOT copy and paste your plot summaries, or any other parts of your review, from other sources. This is plagarism, and there are also other penalties online for using duplicate content.

* Please include what genre the book falls into. This will be published in the label section so that the review can be filtered by genre.

* If you don't know specifics, even just the ratings would be nice. For instance, maybe you remember reading "Catcher in the Rye" in high school, but don't remember much about it, except for how much profanity there was. In that case, you could just submit the title of the book, and the ratings, and maybe a little blurb about why you did or did not like it. We can always go back and fill in details. Even a small contribution might spark someone else's memory, and they could provide more specifics. Or, just the ratings themselves could help someone else decide if it's a book he or she would be interested in reading.

* You will be credited and tagged for your review using your first name and last initial. Then, as you build your own fans, they can isolate YOUR reviews from the rest, if they want to.

* I will be proof reading all submissions before publication, and may make light edits (correct misspellings; minor edits for clarification; etc.) without notifying you.
